There was a picture of Martin Sheen reading a book in US Magazine this week. that, in and of itself, is not that blog-worthy, but the title of said book is: "1001 Books you Must Read Before You Die."
So, why read (or write, for that matter) a book about the books you SHOULD be reading? Go read one of those books.

I hate that book about places to go before you die. I just hate it. I think it's snotty and arbitrary at the same time, and also includes a suspiciously large number of Four Seasons hotels. Ok, I have seen the Four Seasons in Istanbul, and it is a lovely hotel, but I'll let you in on a secret: if you die without ever seeing it, you will be A-OK.
The followup, presumably, will be "1002 Books You Must Read Before You Die."
What about the 1001 books you should read after you die (relevant to the 150,000 people that die every day that are just! like! you! says Kirk Cameron?
